Welcome to Solo Creek Guide Service, Inc.

Welcome to Solo Creek Guide Service home of Alaska’s Premier Big Game Hunting with Registered Guide Thomas (Tom) Vaden and Class A Guide Henrietta Vaden

If you are looking for the Big Game hunt of a life time Solo Creek Guide Service is one of the best possible options you will find for fulfilling that dream in Alaska. We are located deep in the rugged Wrangell Mountains of Alaska. Our lodge sits in the Wrangell Saint Elias Preserve and abuts up to the famous Wrangell Saint Elias National Park, one of the largest parks in the world. Because this area abuts up to the Wrangell Saint Elias National Park we have an abundance of Alaska’s Big Game Animals in our exclusive guiding area.

We are a small family owned/operated outfit which only books a few hunters each year. We pride our selves on having managed the game in this area since 1960 which is when the Vaden family began guiding at this location. Over the years we have been extremely selective on the number of hunters we take (maximum of 4) and believe this is why our hunters have had 95% success rate in the last two decades. We believe in hunting hard with attention to detail, the condition of the hunter and the hunter’s desires. We are here to provide a hunting service and encourage your input while you are hunting for your trophy. Solo Creek Guide Service has a registered guide as well as two experienced assistant guides to participate in the success of your hunt. We support and encourage both rifle and bow hunters.

Solo Creek Guide Services’ base camp is very remote being several hundred miles from major Alaskan cities. It is accessible only by Bush Plane in the summer and fall and snow machines in the winter. We also use spike camps which are set up to accommodate the comforts of the hunter with tents for sleeping, cooking and relaxing after a long day of hunting. Our location provides excellent opportunities for bagging a trophy Moose, Grizzly Bear or Dall Sheep.

Much of your hunting will be done on foot with horse support. You will cross ice cold rivers, travel up steep canyons and vast timbered areas while seeking your trophies. Hunting techniques will vary depending on the species you are after. Sheep, moose and bear all require a different methods and techniques although you will need to utilize a bit of some from each style. In many situations you will want to have a good set of optics so you can look for your trophy while we sit quietly waiting for the game to start moving. Solo Creek has a tremendous variety of terrain which provides home to many trophies. It has lush grass meadows, heavy timber, thick willow groves and high mountain tundra with snow covered mountain peaks in the high country. It is a hunters paradise. We offer the experience of a life time and are here to help you fulfill your hunting dreams.
